Challenging Hidden paradise Guts
The
trip to Pok Tunggal Beach was
unexpected. Initially ordered a difficult path, it leads to a hidden paradise captivating and challenging
the guts. The iconic tree makes this beach more beautiful.
"Ah, to where this journey?" I thought when the car that
took me start stumbling down the cobblestone streets in between two cliff. We move slowly
along the 2 kilometer
road is narrow, winding
and somewhat steep. Instant is swished adrenalin
when passing the bend with a large rock
that juts over the head.
Apart from the
thrilling ride, a beautiful scenery unfolds before the eyes. Expanse of white
sand beach with blue waves crashing seems to be a bidder tired after last rocks
along a narrow lane. Seen some teenagers engrossed in playing the surf beach
while occasionally preening in front of the camera. Duras growing shade tree on
the shoreline and became an icon of this beach. Trees are supposedly difficult
to grow this highly guarded existence by locals, so do not be surprised if
there is a strike if climbing the tree.
But the real charm of Pok Tunggal was a line of cliffs that stands proudly like a fortress that protects this beach from the outside world. Cliffs perpendicular rock walls as high as 50-meter is very potential to be developed as a sports arena rock climbing. Of course it took courage and extraordinary skill for rock climbing is because until now no climbing lanes (Sept 2012). Hopefully soon there climber who conquered the cliff and open a path.
In the coastal cliffs there is still a wild primates. When we visited, seen a herd of wild monkeys jumping from behind a cliff in the east. Strangely at this beach are freshwater springs, most likely originated from the underground river typical karst area. Source water that meets the needs of the food stalls and public bathrooms local non-governmental outcomes.
Enjoy the beauty of Pok Tunggal Beach would not be complete without taking a minute to wait for the sun sink behind the horizon. This afternoon we even met with a group of Caucasians carrying a large backpack, it looks like they will be camping on this beach. Fun also spend the night in tents while enjoying the breeze and waves coast after enjoying the color. When not bring tents, dome tents we could hire local people. However, when deciding to go home at night, you should be extra careful. The road is narrow and rocky it was once again challenging the guts because it has not come with the torch lighting at all.
